The latest news is that Pantagleize is up and running and still devoted to our original mission statement:
a nod toward international material, and a helping hand to developing playwrights.
We restarted about two years ago, when a versatile author/friend (Breck Henderson) and I were wishing out loud for some writers’ roundtable where we could share our work in brotherly love, not critical excision. We added an internationally known story teller to our table, a brilliant actress, then some more spectacular talents. Now we have a small group of writers who act, and actors who write.
Since then, we have developed public readings featuring our own plays, some adaptations of classics, and delightful story telling for our youngest fans. We are, at least for now, both a literary theater, emphasizing writing more than acting or visual expression, and operating more like a repertory company than most, thus finding homes in local libraries. Will we ever get back to the proscenium stage with the ever-revolving cast? Time will tell. We value professionalism, but also love the kind of theatre that suffers the little children. Come see the new us.
Violet O’Valle, Founder and Producing Director.
